Music stores…remember them? Yes, they still exist. There aren't a lot, but there are FYEs still around, as well as independant record stores. I was thinking about it and there is an entire generation of music fans who have never stepped into a record store. Suffocation guitarist Guy Marchais realized this, and thus he posted this video showing just how you could support Suffo…by going to a record store and picking up the CD:
I like that Guy talks about how if you download the music, which he isn't exactly pleased about, but if you enjoy it, you should support the band and buy the album, or go to a show and buy some merch. I think sometimes what's forgotten is just how much effort goes into creating an album, and the bands should be rewarded for their work if you happen to appreciate the output.
