We’ve got a very special exclusive song premiere to show you today by a bright young band named Virvum who hail from Zurich, Switzerland. The song premiere for “Ad Rigorem” below also doubles as a lyric video, and is also the first song to drop from their forthcoming debut album, Illuminance. Active since 2007, Virvum has carefully spent their time figuring out a sound of their own over the years while releasing two standalone singles in the past. It seems their time spent honing their craft has paid off, because “Ad Rigorem” showcases the sound of a very precise and experienced group. One who deliver an abundance of spellbinding and powerful moments throughout the songs near five minute run-time.
For all its technical ferocity and complexity, “Ad Rigorem” also makes room for a tranquil and almost cerebral undercurrent to the death metal fury on display which really helps the song stand out and shine.
