HELLISH GOD Signs An "Anti-Cosmic Decree" for Fiery Death Metal

Death metal's infernal grasp stretches to many corners of the world. It has grown into a titanic force over the last 30 years or so. Consequently, it has spawned numerous scenes in countries outside of simply the United States and Scandinavia, for example. For Italy, death metal has found a home in bands like Hellish God. The Campobasso quartet plans to unveil their first full-length album after initially releasing an EP back in 2016. Amongst The Evil Emanations' 10 tracks, the band touches on some of the technical aspects of fellow countrymen Hour of Penance; but also taps into some of the old school tendencies that drove death metal in its earliest days.

On "Anti-Cosmic Decree", this is ever apparent. An Orthrus of vocals—a dual assault from Mattia Tya De Fazio and Michele Di Ioia—highlights the track. The two feverishly exchange passages while incendiary riffs and blasts run ablaze across a riveting three minutes of music. Hellish God could also draw some similarities to bands like Hate Eternal. Those comparisons are certainly valid. The burgeoning, Italian force follows a similar fiery scheme. This display ultimately bodes well for the band and what to expect from the rest of The Evil Emanations.

Stream "Anti-Cosmic Decree" below. Be sure to follow Hellish God on Facebook and also pre-order the album. Their first full-length, The Evil Emanations, arrives this January through Everlasting Spew Records.
