SLIPKNOT: First Live Footage Since Paul Gray's Passing
- Posted by RobInjection on June 20, 2011
Well it's all come down to this! We've covered all the drama in the Slipknot camp since the passing of Paul Gray last year. We knew the band decided to recruit fromer Slipknot guitarist Donnie Steele to play bass during these shows. Corey Taylor has explicitly said these shows will determine if he will continue with Slipknot or not.
There were questions as to how the band would present themselves, and what sort of tribute they would pay to their fallen band member, as well as how Donnie would be presented (would he play in Gray's gear?). All was revealed when they band stepped on stage this weekend during Sonisphere Greece.
The band performed in their old school red jumpsuits, and Donnie Steele played off-stage, with Paul Gray's costume propped up on the drum riser like a scarecrow. The band also played in front of a giant banner with the #2 on it in tribute to Gray. The band posted a few photos on their official site. Here is the band's set list:
The band have a few more dates lined up this Summer, and then they'll decide what to do moving forward. My money is on a new album in tribute to Gray.
