SKINLESS' New Track Proves The Band Is Still Heavy After Nine Years Of Silence

New Skinless sounds like old Skinless, and that's a good thing!

New Skinless sounds like old Skinless, and that's a good thing!

After nine years, Skinless is finally dropping a new album titled Only The Ruthless Remain on Jun. 2 via Relapse Records. Naturally when a band announces an album after such a long pause everyone gets pretty stoked about the new material. Yet, there's always that cautious air about the excitement… because what if after all this time it sucks?

Fortunately, new Skinless does not suck. In fact, vocalist Sherwood Webber put into words exactly how I feel about the new song. Take it away, Mr. Webber!

“[Illustrator] Ken Sarafin summed it up best when he said that upon listening to the new Skinless, his balls exploded and bigger ones grew in their place. That’s how we felt when making it! ‘Serpenticide‘ was the song that got us into the flow of creating this album. This track has the grind, dirge, and vengeful bludgeoning that makes it a slicing cross cut of Only The Ruthless Remain. You’ve heard the live version; here is the final in all its ruthlessness. The countdown is on. Much more to come. As the old saying goes, it’s time to stop the teasin’ and start the pleasin’, ha!”

Exactly. My balls are literally making every pair of pants I own extremely uncomfortable to wear. I'm doomed to a life of sweatpants, but jamming on this track was totally worth it.
