Rebecca Black Releases Terrible Single, People Everywhere Create Death Metal Parodies.

Rebecca Black

While I was in Austin for SXSW (plenty of updates from there still to come), my Twitter and Facebook feeds were blowing up with people shitting all over some new track by Rebecca Black, a girl I've never heard of before all my friends started talking about what a terrible song she wrong about Friday. I had my ideas about what the song sounded like and when I finally heard it, it was WAY WORSE than I could imagine.

So here is the original version for context:

It was so painful, but I told myself I'd at least make it to the chorus, and wow. I think my IQ just went down a few points. This may be the first time that an artist is getting all this attention for being terrible. The official video for the track currently has a 9:1 ratio of dislikes to likes…ON THE OFFICIAL VIDEO. It also has 29 million views, so I guess there really is no such thing as bad publicity.

But another interesting thing happened – there are a million death metal parodies of this atrocity. I have compiled a few of the more listenable ones, in the sense that at least it's not listening to the original, but still…these lyrics [facepalm]

OMG! My girlfriend showed me the original video just this past Saturday and I did in fact facepalm myself after watching the video ALL THE WAY THROUGH! They are trying to push her as the American equivilent of Justin Bieber! So fucking bad!!!!! But those Death Metal covers……awesome hahaha!

First: "what a terrible song she wrong about Friday." – LOL (on a serious note, there is no way she wrote the song, it's all a corporate thing. She doesn't even really sing during the thing. I refuse to dignify this ilk as a song or music, because it is not.)

Second: "I think my IQ just went down a few points." – Judging by the above sentence, yes it did.

Third: Has anyone attempted to play this backwards yet? YVAN EHT NIOJ!

Also none of these covers took advantage of all the "oooh yeah, yeah yeah yeahs" at the beginning. JAMES HETFIELD IS APPALLED.

Saw the video after a lotta of memes started to flood the web. I was shocked, it sucked as much as some other shit from another ugly pre-teen I had seen some time ago.

About the videos, the only good one was the first one. The rest were totally unfunny and or a POS. The one from the guys who abuse the use of hair-straightener was sad.

Why the fuck do you even put these shit videos on here? Serious.

    • ooo

      For the lulz

      • Kuhnty McSchitbaalz

        Which lulz should I make?
