I've been bummed out most of the day due to the unfortunate passing of David Bowie, but I got a little bit of a pick-me-up this afternoon when I saw in my inbox the first single from Finland's spacey black metal group, Oranssi Pazuzu. The group is releasing their newest studio album on February 20th, entitled Värähtelijä through 20 Buck Spin in the States and Svart Recordings throughout the rest of the world.
The first single, "Hypnotisoitu Viharukous", shows Oranssi Pazuzu's ability to mold and meld a black metal template into whatever eerie, cosmic styling they so choose. Searing synths, fuzzed bass, and shrill vocals highlight the five and a half-minute track. It premiered earlier today over at SPIN. You can check it out below.
