Mastodon's new EP Cold Dark Place consists of three songs recorded during the Once More 'Round The Sun album recording process and one recorded during the Emperor Of Sand sessions, none of which have been released. Now the band is sharing "Toe To Toes," which is the only Emperor Of Sand track, and holy shit does it rule. It's pretty obvious why the song didn't make the album, considering it sounds nothing like the record, but still… this song is incredibly catchy and I really hope they continue down this path.
Actually, this could've been a good b-side for "Jaguar God," right? Anyway, Cold Dark Place is out September 22 and you can pre-order that here.
