MASTODON Drummer Brann Dailor Launches Solo Song "Red Death"

It is unbelievably good.

It is unbelievably good.

If Mastodon drummer and vocalist Brann Dailor is about to launch a solo career, we're already very much on board. Dailor just released a new solo track called "Red Death" to accompany the DC Comics graphic novel Dark Days: The Road To Metal, which is out on May 22.

Here's a brief synopsis of the track and of what the storyline is for it in regards to the novel:

"For years, Batman has been tracking a mystery. He's quietly been pulling a thread, conducting research in secret laboratories across the globe and stowing evidence deep in the Batcave, hidden even from his closest allies. Now, in an epic story spanning generations, the heroes and villains of the DC Universe, including Green Lantern, The Joker, Wonder Woman and more, are about to find out what he's discovered–and it could threaten the very existence of the Multiverse!"

The only odd thing about "Red Death" being billed as a solo track from Dailor is that the YouTube description from Warner Bros. says the song "features Brann Dailor of Mastodon." So it's not entirely clear if this is all Dailor, or just him on vocals and maybe drums. That being said, this track is just flat out incredible and we need way more of it.
