METALLICA Congratulates Retired Yankee Pitcher Mariano Rivera On Baseball Hall Of Fame

Rivera's theme song was Metallica's "Enter Sandman" since 1999.

Yankees closing pitcher Mariano Rivera played for the team between 1995 and 2013, and earned the nickname "Sandman" for his ability to shut opposing teams out. Ever since 1999, Rivera's theme song when walking onto the field was "Enter Sandman" by Metallica. The song became so synonymous with Rivera that on the first-annual Mariano Rivera Day in 2013, Metallica themselves showed up to play the song live as he walked onto the field.

Rivera was recently voted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, and of course Metallica had to get on TV during an interview with the man himself to congratulate him. Here's hoping Metallica shows up to the induction ceremony to play the song one more time for Rivera, because why not?
