Jason Becker: Not Dead Yet Trailer Is The Most Inspirational Video You'll See Today

When he was eighteen years old, Jason Becker was on the trajectory to becoming one of the biggest guitar gods of the time. Then, at age twenty he contracted Lou Gerig's disease and lost control of his motor skills. That's depressing in it's own right, but imagine if you dedicated your entire life to making music and it was taken away from you. But rather than sit and sulk, Becker persevered. The new documentary, Jason Becker: Not Dead Yet takes a look at his life since then, showing the ridiculous computer language invented for him so that he could compose music with the blink of an eye and the movement of his chin. Just watching this 3-minute trailer got me choked up, so I can imagine how much of a tear-jerker the entire doc is. The documentary will premiere at the Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose, California on Saturday, March 3rd. More info can be found on the movie's official website, and you can read an interview with the filmaker at the Deciblog.
