Jacob Bannon's New Solo Track Sounds Nothing Like CONVERGE, And Not In A Bad Way

Converge is a very aggressive act, and one of the best at doing so. But frontman Jacob Bannon needed an outlet for the type of music that he wanted to create that wouldn't exactly fit in the Converge cannon.

In doing so, Bannon is gearing up to release his first solo album until the moniker Wear Your Wounds. Coincidentally, his band features his Converge partner-in-crime, guitarist Kurt Ballou. The two have collaborated on non-Converge projects before, including 2001's excellent Supermachiner release. The band is rounded out by Mike McKenzie (The Red Chord), Chris Maggio (Sleigh Bells, Trap Them), and Sean Martin (Hatebreed, Kid Cudi).

The first track from WYW has premiered at AV Club, and it features Bannon giving his calmest vocal performance to date, in a soothing, serene track:

Wear Your Wounds' WYW will be released on April 7, via Deathwish Inc. The band also have some European dates lined up:

4/21—Z7—Switzerland Pratteln
