Stone Sour have released their EP Straight Outta Burbank over Thanksgiving weekend. The EP featured five covers, three of which we've heard already: The Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter," Bad Brains' "Sailin' On," and Iron Maiden's "Runnin Free."
The one cover I was most anticipating was their take on Slayer. Turns out they covered "Seasons in the Abyss" and much like the other covers, leaves a bit to be desired.
It's not that it's a bad cover, it's just almost an exact replica of the original. I can just listen to the original. Also, here's their cover of Motley Crue's "Too Fast For Love."
Anyway, this was all just a palette cleanser for what is sure to be a busy 2016 for Stone Sour, as Slipknot have wrapped their promo cycle.
