Last week, I was one of a select few of New York metal journalists invited by Roadrunner Records to an intimate listening party for the new Gojira album, Magma. No photos or anything were allowed at the time, because the band did not officially reveal anything about the album just yet. I heard the album, loudly, in a wonderful room in Silver Chord Studio and couldn't be more excited to finally hear new Gojira. It was that familiar crunch of the band, but also something new, and something I think fans will enjoy.
Today, the band officially announced they will be releasing Magma on June 17th via Roadrunner Records. They have released a second teaser (first one here) but this one doesn't reveal much past the album title:

In related news, anytime I write about this album, I will now associate it with Dr. Evil saying "liquid hot magma" all because my buddy, Axl Rosenberg brought it to my attention during the listening party:
