The Spanish demons return in 2017 with a brand new EP and we have the exclusive premiere of it in its entirety.

Barcelona's Sheidim made some waves last year with their debut album, Shrines of the Void. Spain has been quietly growing as an extreme metal scene for over a decade now and its earliest roots reach back as far as the early 90s. Yet, within the last 10 to 15 years it has begun to reach towards other lands. Bands like FoscorProclamation, and Teitanblood have taken hold of international audiences during their tenure. Now, Sheidim has the chance to do the same with their brand of black and death metal. Their personnel certainly sets them up for great things. The quintet features current and former members of bands like CruciamentumSuspiral (another great Spanish black metal band), Graveyard, and Foscor.

Sheidim follows up Shrines of the Void with a brand new EP named Infamata. This latest installment into the band's budding discography tracks five songs and clocks in at under 30 minutes.  After a tense introduction, Sheidim rips into furious riffs on "A Dying Sun". The EP's second track is reminiscent of the storied Swedes of Dissection. "Underneath" and "Wings of the Reaper" showcase a touch of melody and groove while maintaining a similar ferocity. However, Infamata's brightest moment comes in its finale. "Sister of Sleep" The nearly nine-minute closer covers all facets of Sheidim's music. Every moment of this track is built to close a live set, especially its latter half. Swirling guitar riffs and tempestuous drum rolls continuously build towards a momentous climax to bring the album to a close. The track is bolstered by a guest vocal appearance by NSK from Teitanblood as well.

Stream the world premiere of Infamata below. The EP arrives this Friday through I, Voidhanger Records. Pre-order the album from the label's Bandcamp page and follow Sheidim on Facebook as well.
