Full Album Stream: [B.ABUSE] Offer Post-Crust Experimentation with Memories Of Better Days Are Gone

With their fifth full-length, Memories of Better Days Are Gone, [b.abuse] conjure up an amalgamation of sound. The post-crust experimentation is taken above and beyond what one would expect from a band toting around the genre label.

Being a band for over twenty-five-years is insane. But somehow despite my love for crust/grind/punk, [b.abuse] never made a blip on my radar until now. And though their discography isn’t massive, there’s certainly something worth diving into there. So if you’re like me, we may as well start with Memories of Better Days Are Gone.

With their fifth full-length, Memories of Better Days Are Gone, [b.abuse] conjure up an amalgamation of sound. The post-crust experimentation is taken above and beyond what one would expect from a band toting around the genre label. Crusty? Yeah, the album is definitely crusty, but it goes way, way beyond that. From the instrumental passage of “Days Gone Bye” to the more aggressive “Nothing Will Remain”, the record is an attempt to pull a lot of sounds together. Post-rock, noise rock, the crusty edge of bands like Tragedy, and noisy layers follow one after the other.

Memories of Better Days Are Gone is definitely not an album for everyone, but it’s also an album that you should sit back and soak up. The eight tracks go through a lot of motions that command your attention. So dig in.
