DRAGONFORCE Get Some Help from TRIVIUM's Matt Heafy on New Single, "Defenders"

Dragonforce + Matt Heafy = BFFs

Dragonforce + Matt Heafy = BFFs

Trivium's Matt Heafy must be really good friends with Dragonforce, because he's now appeared on two of the band's new singles. A few weeks back, we heard "The Game" featuring Heafy and today the band unveiled a new track, via Loudwire, called "Defenders" in which Heafy helps out with the pre-chorus.

Guitarist Herman Li explains:

‘Defenders’ was one of the first songs we finished recording of the new album Maximum Overload. The idea for this song was to create a contrast, by fusing some thrash metal style riffs with DragonForce’s big epic choruses and high speed twin guitars solos. Our friend Matt Heafy from Trivium helped us out with some aggressive backing vocals in the pre choruses. In terms of lyrics, here we went for our classic fantasy approach similar to our first album. This song sounds huge live, we can’t wait to play this on our upcoming world tour!

Here's the track:

It's a solid slab of power metal. If you were looking for a time to get back into Dragonforce, this may be it. Dragonforce's new album, Maximum Overload comes out August 19th on Metal Blade Records.
