Dave Suzuki was one of the founders of Vital Remains, back when they were relevant. He quit the band a few years ago, and disappeared from the scene. His presence was missed, as were his blistering leads and crushing blasts. The guy was a death metal virtuoso. He has recently resurfaced in a new project named Churchburn. With a name like that, I'm already on board!
Unlike Vital Remains, the band is more doom than death metal. The two piece band, also featuring Greif's Ray McCaffrey (on drums and vocals) released a few tracks and they sound quite promising:
