Christopher Amott, brother of Arch Enemy and ex-Carcass guitarist Michael Amott, revived his old band Armageddon in 2012 but stayed relatively quiet for the past two years. Now the band is back with a new single titled "Captivity and Devourment" off an upcoming album of the same name. After hearing the song, I'm a little sad that the album doesn't have a release date yet! There's a whole lot of ridiculously tasty riffs in there and the end guitar solo made my face get a little drippy. It's worth noting Captivity and Devourment will be the first album by Armageddon in 11 years, seeing as their last effort Three came out in 2003.
So who did it better this week? Chris with Armageddon or Michael with Arch Enemy? I like 'em both for different reasons, so I'm steering clear of this one.
