Maryland Deathfest 2013 Lineup Gets Even More Badass
I love Maryland Deathfest, and being from Philadelphia, it's quite easy for me to make the yearly pilgrimage to the (un)holy land. I understand that not everyone lives as close as me, however, after this new round of band announcements that were just made, even if you live in mother Russia you have to find a way to get to MDF this year. I don't care if you have to fly, boat, swim or get swallowed by a giant whale that transports you across the ocean…get. to. MDF. this. year.
Earlier this week the festival announced more bands for the 2013 memorial day weekend. Highlights include Bolt Thrower, Sleep and Carpathian Forest. Below is the list of new bands that were just added, followed by the full kick-ass lineup of bands that have been confirmed already. (more…)

Members ANIMALS AS LEADERS And THE FACELESS To Host Music Clinic Retreat
I am not sure about the rest of you, but I often times find myself wondering just how awesome it would be to attend an adult camp. Instead of going on vacation, people would just go to camp. Throw in the idea of a camp designed for metal heads and music fans and you pretty much have my wet dream right there.
Well it seems someone decided to spy on my dirty dreams because this is now a reality. Introducing, Camping With Animals! A winter retreat from January 2nd to the 6th at Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, New York, featuring Animals As Leaders — Tosin Abasi, Javier Reyes and Matt Garstka, plus Evan Brewer, bassist from The Faceless. Goalie Pays Tribute To BLACK SABBATH With Killer Hockey Mask
When I think about professional sports and which player and/or position seems to be the most intimidating, I always conclude that hands down, ice hockey goalies are the most intimidating players. They literally look like monsters with their giant pads and fiercely decorated masks. Fear plays a big role in maximizing their game. Getting into the opponent's head can and does create an advantage for the goalie. So it's only normal that more and more we are seeing intricate goalie masks being designed, and when looking to be intimidating as fuck the only natural choice is to have a Black Sabbath mask! The case against Daniel Baldi states that the physician allegedly prescribed large amounts of narcotic painkillers to eight patients (including Gray) who later died of overdoses. (more…)

ANTHRAX Is The First Metal Band Blasted On Mars
The Curiosity Rover landed on Mars on August 6th and while its primary mission is to research the Martian planet, collect data and send it back to earth, its secondary mission is to rock the shit out of that planet and any god damn aliens it finds. The incredibly smart engineers and scientists that have built this thing are not only intelligent but also cool too. (In high school, these scientists probably never got called, "cool".) (more…)

THE CHARIOT have released a new song
The Chariot have just released a brand new song entitled "in" from their forthcoming new album One Wing which hit shelves on August 28th through eOne/Good Fight Music. The song is the seventh track on the new album and is typical of what fans come to expect from The Chariot. There is nothing out of the ordinary here, although everything the band does tends to be out of the ordinary. So the band's new album seems to be full of chaotic time signatures and strange noises, but like I said, that is nothing new for Josh and the crew. (more…)

GAZA Premiere New Song; Release New Album
Experimental metal band Gaza have just released their third full length album, "No Absolutes In Human Suffering" and NPR are featuring an exclusive premiere of a brand new track off of the album entitled, "Not With All The Hope In The World." The song is a mammoth for the band, clocking in at nearly six minutes and thirty seconds; the longest track on their new album. The song is absolutely killer, mixing in the band's normal grindcore and doom with an almost unheard of bit of melody for this Utah based quartet.
The album is being released via Black Market Activities and is available on iTunes. You can check out the premiere track here, or just pop open your Spotify and listen to the whole damn album. We highly recommend doing the latter as the album could quite possible be one of the best 2012 has to offer.
