Whoa! Bill & Ted 3 About To Head Into Production
It's finally happening! Production on the Bill & Ted threequel is right around the corner according to Alex Winter, aka "Bill." The duo have an awesome plot, and while the film was was delayed due to budgeting issues, we are right around the corner from production.
Winter told Forbes in a recent interview, that everything has fallen into place and they just need to decide on a start date:
“We’ve been working on it for, like six years. We’re knee-deep in the script, it’s been written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, who wrote the first two, they are fantastic writers, and the script is great. We have a script, we have a director, we have a studio – we’re just trying to nail down a start date.”
Asked if the start date could be at the end of this year or early next year, Winter replied “Hopefully the former, possibly the latter.” Winter also confirmed that Keanu Reeves has committed to the project as well: “How the [fuck] would we make it if he wasn’t on board? People always ask if Keanu’s doing it and I’m like, ‘No, I’m making a Bill movie.’ Of course, he’s in it. I can’t make a Bill & Ted movie without Keanu.”
That's very exciting news for longtime Bill & Ted fans such as myself. The brand is getting a resurgence, not just with the movie but with a new comic book in the works.
Winter, meanwhile, is keeping busy releasing new documentaries. I highly recommend checking out Downloaded about the Napster rise and fall and Deep Web about the underbelly of the internet and how the government used possibly illegal means to capture the owner of drug marketplace Silk Road. Winter's next documentary, Who the F*@% is Frank Zappa? just finished crowdfunding and will be released soon.
