Social media has long been derided as the home of ridiculous cat pictures, videos and memes. This is true. Black metal is held dear by its fans as an art form worth taking seriously. This is also true. However. I love cats, I love black metal- and all extreme metal has a tongue-in-cheek quality to it. So, why not bring these two things together?
Presenting your new favorite Twitter account: Black Metal Cats!!!
The page takes epic looking photos of cats in snowy, heavily forested landscape and presents them with lyrics from great black metal classics. Most of the cats are Norwegian Forest Cats (or Maine Coons, they look pretty similar), naturally. It’s totally ridiculous…but it’s also totally awesome.
