Metal Injection

We love Pantera here at the Metal Injection studios, and we love Phil Anselmo. When we checked in with him last year, we joked that he is "forming coherent sentences again," after giving an interview where he seemed very introspective and sober.

With that being said, we found a story today posted by our buddy Chris Harris over at Gun Shy Assassin that was too hilarious not to tell you guys about. Chris got word from a reliable source in a band that toured with Anselmo 'not too long ago' and how this anonymous source thought he was all cool with Phil, and would make jokes, but apparently Phil didn't find them funny. Then this happened:

“We were at this restaurant one night and I said something to him. I was passing him in a hallway, and I was just like, ‘Hey, what’s up, dog?’ and dude grabbed me by the throat and was holding me by my fucking neck man, and he goes, ‘You will address me like a white man.’ And he didn’t let go of my neck, and I was standing there — frozen in fear. I didn’t know what was going on. I was like, ‘So, what should I call you?’ and he goes, ‘You will call me Philip or dude.’ And I was like, ‘I will call you dude from now on, man.’ He let me go and I got away with that one. That was cool.”

Jeez. That is some serious shit right there. Take note, if there is ever an Anselmo signing to only refer to him as dude. But the story isn't even over. It gets even more ridiculous. Head over to Gun Shy Assassin to read the full thing.
