And the winner of the CHILDREN OF BODOM Alexi Impersonation contest is…

We were quite surprised at the amount of entries there were for the Alexi Laiho Impersonation contest. But, then again, we were giving away a really sweet prize in a brand new ESP LTD AL-600 Scythe. Initially, Alexi himself went through all the entrants and picked his favorite, which ended up being this guy, who has quite a creepy resemblance to Alexi. Unfortunately, that dude didn't read the rules to see that the contest was only open to U.S. entrants so we were asked by ESP to pick another winner, which ended up being Andrew from upstate NY. Here is his winning entry:

Congratulations, Andrew! Your sexy ESP Scythe is on it's way. And, thanks to all of you who entered. There were some great submissions.

    Is this not a little bit ridiculous? He looks nothing like Alexi, there were way better *Impersonation*'s. He plays very very well I give him that, but is this really the best Impersonation?

    I agree with you Cinthix, he looks nothing like Alexi Laiho and it is not the best impersonation… the best one was MINE ! Just because I'm not Americain I can"t win his guitar, so disgusting !!! But after all, the guitar doesn't matter, cause I have been chosen by Alexi at first time, I WON THE CONTEST !!!

    Don't be sad man, you won the contest, you've been picked by Alexi Lahio himself as the best impersonation!! Unfortunately, the rules are the rules, but you stay the winner, even if you don't live in US!

    And you really look like Alexi, I'm so jealous! You're definitely the best!

    I agree, AT22. Your impersonation was by far the best. Had you been actually playing in the video it would have been very extreme. I am sorry you could not get your prize that you deserve.

    I am not referring to myself not being the winner Abominae. There were much better impersonations done by people *not* playing with a Scythe. And that is the only reason I am bitter. This was a poor choice.

    At the beginning, I thought I will actually be playing in my video, I can play some part of Silent Night Bodom Night, Sixpounder, etc… but not very good (comparing to Alexi ^^) so I thought that it will make the video bader than if I was doing playback.

    If Set Abominate says right, it's quite stupid… there was a lot of other guys who done good impersonation, funny videos… Acording to me this one is… too simple…

    Wow… this is ridiculous, there was quite a few other videos that were BY FAR better than this one. AT22 was the best and he is the real winner. But aside from him… Cinthix was awesome.. and Guitarmajster played awesome. And they all LOOKED like alexi.. I mean this was an IMPERSONATION contest right??? It cant be any clearer that this dude was picked at random. I feel bad for the actual good videos.

    This sucks, AT22 Cinthix had great impersonations….and i want to believe i had a great one too but what to do…? i am greek so i couldnt get anything…nah there is nothing we can do no matter how bad we judge the winner….see you guys in the next competition….hope its european this time :)) nad that i will learn it many days before the deadline not like this time….i had 2 days to make the video before the deadline :)))))
