Geo·dissonance: the metal movement is proliferating to all corners of the globe. In its relentless display of vitriolic truths and the ugliest questions of existence, we can hear the resounding riffs of heavy metal in the most conservative pockets of society. As your Punjabi, riff-worshiping correspondent, I'vxe created Geodissonance to report the controversy: as metal [...]

Everyone has that band that got them into music, or into a genre. And no matter how mediocre or revolutionary that band is, you'll always hold them as one of the greatest things ever recorded. Personally speaking, my first real dose of underground hardcore, thrash, crust, and pure wreckage is also a completely unsung band [...]
Our photographer, Rodrigo Fredes has been on a show kick with a ton of great photos. Today, he checks in with new snaps from Suicidal Tendencies, DRI and Sick of It All at the Best Buy Theater in NYC from a few days ago. Check out the gallery here.
New England Metal and Hardcore Fest has long been my favorite show of the year. Among its many great qualities, one that stands out and separates it from other similar events: if you want to get a good snapshot of what's happening in heavy music right now, NEMHF is the best place to get it. [...]
You're about to get learned on Memfis, one of the coolest progressive metal bands that Sweden has to offer. What you need to know right now is that their new Silva EP is amazing.
It's hard to come up with a genre classification that Italy's Nero Di Marte easily fit into. That makes writing about the band a little more challenging, but it's a good thing for adventurous metal fans hungry for something new. But, if you're a genre nerd, you could call them progressive melodic death metal and sound [...]
It has come time to unleash episode 137 of MSRcast. There was plenty of brand new releases to play for you this episode, and that we did. During the recording process for this episode, the sad news hit that Clive Burr had passed away, and we couldn't let this episode go by without playing one [...]
After a killer slate last week this Tuesday brings things back down to Earth… volume-wise there is plenty to sort through, but the highlights are a little fewer and further between.

Rob recalls some of the highlights from his few days in Austin, we learn about Noa's favorite potato chips, Sid's planet-saving eating habits, thoughts on vegans and animal killing plus we get some calls from Australia and Houston. [...]

When the New England Metal and Hardcore Fest announced their initial lineup a few weeks ago, it was already unfuckwithable. Anthrax (playing Among The Living), Opeth, Suicidal Tendencies, Hatebreed, Exodus, Shadows Fall…and others were already enough to get me excited. Today, they announced the addition of a few new bands, including The Dillinger Escape Plan.
Iron Reagan have been working on new material for the better part of a year. The band features Municiapl Waste's Tony Foresta and Phil Hall on vocals and guitar respectively and former Darkest Hour drummer (and Metal Injection columnist) Ryan Parrish and bassist Paul Burnette. The band just released a new track (courtesy of Invisible [...]

Yesterday, the metal world collectively groaned when hip hop star Chris Brown was photographed wearing a leather jacket featuring drawn patches of crossover artists such as Municipal Waste, Suicidal Tendencies, DRI, Corrosion of Conformity and others. Well, over the last 24 hours some new info has arose on the origin of the jacket.
Rapper and convicted woman beater Chris Brown was photographed in Hollywood last week sporting a new leather jacket, with some familiar logos to visitors of this website. The jacket featured patches of many crossover bands like Municipal Waste, Suicidal Tendencies, D.R.I., Corrossion of Conformity, The Exploited and others. Here are some more photos:
