It has come, on the 15th day the birth of Mars has arrived. The god of war, the celebrations have begun! Let the sirens of war echo the might of Rome…this is the final war! Just like the Roman empire, EX DEO is creating history by being the first metal band to release two back [...]

It's a retro world. That's not a value judgment, just a statement of fact. Some lament this fact as if its a permanent turn of events – rather than a blip in time made inevitable by a generation of MP3-trading kids suddenly having carte blanche to the entirety of music history – but, either way, [...]

I hope you've all enjoyed your Labor Day weekend (I don't really care), but it's time to get back into the swing of things with some new music. We've got one outstanding release from the veteran, punk-proggy thrashers in Propagandhi, an endlessly eccentric work of… eccentricity from Arkhamin Kirjasto (damn that long and difficult band [...]

It is not a good week, my friends. Not a good week at all. At first glance, I noticed that there were hardly any releases whatsoever; upon further inspection, I realized that only one of them was even remotely metal. I was faced with a moral dilemma: forfeit the column entirely, or dive into the [...]

Dublin, California could just be another American city with a borrowed European name, lest it not be for a band comprised of arguably some of the best thrash players of all time. Having been friends for over thirty years and grown up listening to Kiss, Led Zeppelin and The Sex Pistols amongst other sounds of [...]

Epic. Masterpiece. Mind-blowing. Superlative, superlative, superlative. It's hard to hide my excitement here; Portal Of I, down to its final note, is the perfect metal album.

This is a very bittersweet week here at Metal Injection. While we had some laughs, we dealt with the tragic loss of GWAR guitarist Cory Smoot. RIP Cory! Hope your family is doing well. Here are this week's top stories: As we just mentioned, no story is bigger than the loss of GWAR guitarist, Cory [...]

Floridian death metal legends Obituary have announced a handful of east coast dates with openers Denial Fiend. Shit goes down November 12 in Tampa, Florida and runs up and down the coastline, wrapping on November 20 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The band promises to rip through some old classics on this trek, so you may [...]

With Fuck the Facts, there is no point of reference. The band's fierce creativity renders metal genre taxonomy useless. Beyond grindworthy vocals, their past work gives little indication of their future direction. These facts would be troublesome if the band didn't consistently sculpt fascinating and cohesive releases. It took me a good month of listening [...]

Just when we thought it was over… here comes another giant Summer touring package, the grossly inappropriately titled All Star Tour. I will say though they are doing something genius, the tour will feature two stages: one the heavier stage and the other the more "emo" stage. It's a smart marketing move to attract people [...]
