Last night was the fifth annual Revolver Golden Gods and without question, the biggest one yet. Metallica performed! Anthrax got up on stage with Phil and Rex to perform "This Love?" Dillinger Escape Plan bled and breathed fire. Overall, it was a great night that we're still recovering from.

We've always had a great time at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards. We've been on the black carpet every year (watch some of our interviews), but this year it seems like they really stepped it up for their 5th anniversary.

Machine Head are out on the road right now with Dethklok, All That Remains and The Black Dahlia Murder (dates here). One show that will have to go on without them is the Orlando House of Blues show at Walt Disney World, as they have been banned from the venue. The band is allegedly on [...]

You often hear musicians talk about the importance of practicing an instrument, but it's not something you get to see them do regularly. I know for a fact band rehearsals are the least exciting part of being a musician, but it never really stopped me from collecting bootleg VHS practice tapes from bands I loved [...]

The Death To All Controversy has a new chapter of drama. Recently, we reported that fans in Atlanta and Dallas have been complaining about not receiving refunds, and Death's estate manager pointing the blame squarely on the promoters at Sick Drummer Magazine. SickDrummer released a statement saying that it was a misunderstanding, and that everybody [...]

If you were a hardcore fan in the '90s, there is no way you could have avoided Quicksand. They were "post-hardcore," and huuuge. But not huge enough to stick together, eventually disbanding due to lack of interest. Much like the Refused earlier in the year, the band has found a new following is out there [...]

Geo·dissonance: the metal movement is proliferating to all corners of the globe. In its relentless display of vitriolic truths and the ugliest questions of existence, we can hear the resounding riffs of heavy metal in the most conservative pockets of society. As your Punjabi, riff-worshiping correspondent, I've created Geodissonance to report the controversy: as metal [...]

Look, we get it. You need to get your story out there, and any mention of Pantera is a sure way to get things posted. Heck, I'm writing about it right now, and I've written about it before. But at this point, I just feel like we're repeating ourselves. A few months ago, Zakk Wylde [...]

When we last checked in with the detainment of Randy Blythe in a Czech prison, the court overruled the prosecution allowing Blythe to be freed on bail, which was then doubled to $400,000. Lawyers were awaiting the paperwork to sign and now it's just a waiting game. Blythe is being detained for allegedly pushing a [...]

The Refused were supposed to play an outdoor show yesterday in Brooklyn, but then we got a halestorm and the whole city freaked. The concert organizers ended up cancelling the show, mid-storm (even though by showtime, all the rain had cleared) and people were bummed. The band sort of made it up, announcing a free [...]

It's come down to this, a back and forth on what really happened, last Friday, July 6th at Webster Hall when founding Cro-Mags bassist Harley Flanagan entered the club, went into the backstage area and in a matter of moments, two current members of the band were stabbed, and Flanagan's leg was busted by security. The thing I love about European mega-festivals is that since the amount of people that show up is so massive, they usually hire video production crews to film the action to show on large projectors so people miles back can see what is going on on stage. Sometimes, they even choose to broadcast that footage [...]
