It's been almost two weeks since the tragic passing of Jeff Hanneman due to liver failure. Last week, the band announced the official cause of death being alcohol related cirrhosis and that a memorial will be held in his honor later this month. The band just released all the details surrounding the memorial:

At one point Killing Joke were one of the most bulletproof post-punk bands around. Releasing their first single in 1978, they were right there with Wire and Gang of Four as indisputable early pioneers of the genre. In an era of Cold War hostilities and Reaganomics the band's (dead serious) brand of apocalyptic beats and conspiracy-oriented lyrics hit home with an [...]
A week after Slayer legend Jeff Hanneman's death, Dave Lombardo is remembering his former band mate and best friend.
The 2013 Death To All tour is now underway. It kicked off this past weekend in Hollywood, CA and it's off to a great start.
Sid returns after a week in Texas on this edition of the Livecast. We spent a bunch of time talking about the new Brad Paisley/LL Cool J collaboration "Accidental Racists," leading to a bunch of new Jew talk. We somehow ended up prank-calling a kosher pizza place and we spoke to Scott Lee of the [...]
A lot of people, myself included, are dying to hear what new Black Sabbath sounds like. It's the first material the band has put out with Ozzy at the forefront in over 30 years. Last week, the band posted a snippet of music, but it wasn't enough, damn it. Today, we learn that we'll get [...]
This is kind of a monster tour. Fear Factory haven't been touring much since recently releasing The Industrialist (at least I think they haven't. And seeing Hate Eternal live is like constantly running into a wall of sound and happily running into it again, basically..it's fantastic. These two bands are teaming up for a tour [...]
When you create something this fucking awesome, you have to give yourself some time to prepare. That is why details have been announced seven months in advance for Philip Anselmo's inaugural Horrorcore Horror Film Festival, which takes place this October in Austin, Texas. Not only will Eyehategod and Crowbar be performing during the festival along [...]
Les Claypool jams with Jerry Cantrell in a pretty acoustic setting, and it is awesome as hell.
If you like weed and death metal, this is the tour for you. I'm kind of shocked that High Times didn't come on board as a sponsor, because the copious amount of toking that will take place on the Hell In July tour will be legendary. Six Feet Under just announced they'll be spending July [...]
Spoiler- the East Coast gets pretty shafted.
For the first time since 1999, an increase in revenue was seen from the sales of recorded music (as picture above). Could things be on a slow crawl upward for the industry at long last?
Well this is definitely great news. The Death To All tour, which pays tribute to late legendary vocalist and guitarist Chuck Shuldiner is coming back for another run in 2013. Last year, the first iteration of the tour visited a handful of stops with an all-star lineup of former members of Death, but was later plagued with [...]
The four times I've seen Kvelertak live, I have felt completely blown away by their on-stage energy. Check out our live footage if you don't believe it. If you haven't caught the band live yet, you're in luck! They are spending the better part of the spring touring North America with Cancer Bats and Black [...]
Wasn't Rocklahoma a hair metal festival at one point? I guess the times change. Today, the promoters of the Memorial Day Oklahoma hoedown announced the lineup for the 2013 iteration of the festival and there are a lot of modern bands on there like The Sword, All That Remains, Alice In Chains, Asking Alexandria, Bullet [...]
