Bummer Alert
Posted on February 13th, 2013
It's gotta suck to be Jens Kidman right now. Meshuggah flew over to kick off their tour on Monday, and Jens was battling the flu (as noted by my terribly Photoshopped photo). Jens made it through Monday's set, but his condition got so bad, that he had to sit out the band's second stop in [...]

Yes, I know this could easily do without the cheesy introduction, but I'm feelin' good and I like to hear myself speak. So please, let me welcome you all to the very first installment of The Weekly Injection. Every Tuesday I'll be telling you who's releasing stuff, where it's coming from, what it sounds like, [...]

It's Monday and my sinuses are acting up. I am pissed off but luckily some new metal music will get me through the day. Here we go: Meshuggah released a trailer for their upcoming release, Koloss, out March 26th. You know how excited I am for this record. We also posted some live bootleg video [...]

You may recall that we told you a few months back of a new project which features Sacha Dunable of Intronaut and Graviton, Derek Donley of National Sunday Law and Graviton, Charles Elliott of Abysmal Dawn and ex-The Faceless vocalist Derek Rydquist. At the time they were known as Bewilderbeast, but have since changed their [...]

The weekend is almost upon us, and what better way to kick it off then with a bunch of new tunes. So I'll save the small talk, let's get to the music: Here is the official studio recording of the new Megadeth single, Public Enemy #1. I am into it. Megadeth are quite consistent with [...]

Last week, in all the hoopla of Derek Rydquist leaving The Faceless, we revealed a new project has been formed, Bewilderbiest, that features Rydquist on bass as well as members of Intronaut and Abysmal Dawn . At the time, not much was revealed except for a Facebook page but the sleuths at Metalsucks emailed guitarist [...]

My Sherlock Bromes, Axl Rosenberg over at MetalSucks did a little sleuthing earlier today and noticed that in recent live bootlegs of The Faceless's current European run, vocalist Derek Rydquist is nowhere to be found. The band has a different, equally competent vocalist with them. Take a look:

by: Robert Pasbani Late last week, Magrudergrind announced they are releasing a new EP, Grind Crusher for absolutely nothing, ZERO! They were able to do this through a partnership with Scion A/V, a marketing initative that in my opinion has been nothing but good things for metal. Scion A/V has paid for free festivals with [...]

Would Valley of Smoke continue down the same path the band had been carving out for themselves since their inception, or delve into new creative endeavors?
It's Just Business

Popular opinion states that a band's business model in the current economic and technological climate is 'give the music away for free, make money on tour'. But, with rising costs and other factors, it seems even that is a falsehood. Over at our friends at MetalSucks, there has been a debate of sorts spurred by [...]

Just the other day, Frank and I were blasting Intronaut on the way to an interview and they still rule! They are a part of a pretty sweet summer tour package with Cynic and Dysrhythmia. They are working on a new album Now, there is word that Tool bassist Justin Chancellor dropped by to lend [...]

Deftones' (pretty awesome) new album is now streaming for FREE at two different locations: IHeartRadio.com for US visitors and NME.com for UK fans. The band's label seems to not care about the rest of the world. Sorry! Misery Index has posted the studio version of the title track of their upcoming release, Heirs to Theivery [...]
