Slayer have just released an official press release with a lot of answers to lingering questions.
Talk about terrible coincidences… Dave Lombardo is currently in Israel with his project Philm, and was being interviewed by KZRadio the day before his Slayer bandmate Jeff Hanneman passed away. The interviewer was asking Lombardo about his recent troubles with Slayer when he said:
It's been an eventful week in metal. A few tours were announced, we posted some silly videos and bands were resurrected. Here are the top stories of the week: It's The MARILYN MANSON & AVRIL LAVIGNE Collaboration You Weren't Waiting For Nicolas Cage Headbanging Drop Everything & Listen To The New THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER [...]
Dave Lombardo has a bit of free time on his hands due this ongoing Slayer drama. So, he's gone ahead and decided to resurrect his Grip Inc. project.
Slayer is experiencing their fair share of drama right now. Beyond just having contractual disagreements with Dave Lombardo, original guitarist Jeff Hanneman has not been in the band for two years. And, it looks like he might not be coming back. Gary Holt, Hanneman's fill-in has been with Slayer during that time and many are [...]
It's been a little under two years since Jeff Hanneman had to step down from his position as guitarist of Slayer, and it looks like he might not be coming back.
It's been an eventful week in metal. Randy Blythe was acquitted, we launched our Countdown show, and Howard Jones started a new project. Those were the top stories and here is everything else in the top 10 most visited pages of the week: LAMB OF GOD's Randy Blythe Acquitted Of Manslaughter Charges In Czech Trial [...]
The metal world was shocked when Dave Lombardo announced last week that he would not be participating in Slayer's Australian tour, which is ongoing. For all intents and purposes, Lombardo is currently out of Slayer, and the band has found a temporary replacement in Jon Dette. Naturally, while on their Australian tour, the band would [...]
The world was buzzing last week when Slayer announced they'd be heading to Australia this past weekend to play shows without drummer Dave Lombardo. The band asked Jon Dette to fill in. Jon was already in Australia helping out Anthrax, whose drummer Charlie Benante couldn't leave the States and he jumped at the opportunity to [...]
There was a lot of hoopla last week when Dave Lombardo announced he would not be joining Slayer on their Australian tour due to some financial conflicts. You can catch up on the drama right here, but the bottom line is with Lombardo out, and Hanneman still recovering from his spider bite, only 50% of [...]
Damn it, Slayer. You're not supposed to fight about money, you're f'n Slayer!!!! That was definitely the biggest news of the week, but there was plenty more to write about. Here are this week's top stories and videos: SLAYER Drama: Dave Lombardo Is OUT! What Do The Numbers On MESHUGGAH's Set List Mean? The 15 [...]
Whoa, this is a late-week shocker. Slayer isn't the only band to have drama within it's ranks. Machine Head have just released this statement announcing their split with longtime bassist Adam Duce:
Yesterday, everybody was shocked when Dave Lombardo announced he was sitting out the band's current Australian tour, bringing the count of original members on stage down to 1/2. You can read Lombardo's statement here, but basically it all came down to the money.
This is basically the shittiest news EVAR (of the day). Slayer is not exactly at 100% currently, with guitarist Jeff Hanneman sidelined for over a year due to an infection caused by a spider bite. Now, it seems as though the band will be down to 50% of their original lineup, as Dave Lombardo announced [...]
