Black Tusk has finished recording its new EP that will be released sometime this Spring on Relapse Records. I'm not sure of the name, but I guarantee you there will be mad riffage. Kylesa vocalist Phillip Cope returned to produce and record the new EP, which is supposed to serve as a gateway between 2011's [...]

Last I looked the economy was still in the shitter, so the theme of this year's preface is doing SXSW on the (relative) cheap. The main misconception that I hear about SXSW – even among fellow Austinites – is that it costs a fortune to attend. Yes, it's true that if you plan on attending [...]

Tesseract have decided to go a step further than One's 27-minute "Concealing Fate" suite, and just make the whole new album a solid 51-minute monster titled Altered State. Now we know the anatomy of it, the artwork, and when that monster is going to rear it's head. Oh, and then there's a mini tour.

Red Fang and Beer go together like peanut butter and jelly, marijuana and rolling papers, Dave Mustaine and inappropriate comments. Heck, we even interviewed the band specifically about beer. Anyhoo, the band just released another ripper of a track, called "Crows In Swine," which would be the perfect accompaniment to downing a tallboy. This is [...]

Good reviews all around this week (kind of). But still, my relative good mood aside, we've got some genuinely awesome stuff coming out, from Testament's long-awaited Dark Roots Of Earth, to a potential album-of-the-year-list-candidate in Evoken's Atra Mors. And what better way to send off the month of July than with some brutally soul-crushing doom? [...]

This is quite the healthy tour package for modern hard rock fans. Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson have announced they are teaming up for the "Twins of Evil" tour, in North America and Europe. In the press release, Rob Zombie was quoted as saying "Finally! Why did the most obvious tour take so long to [...]

I can't believe it's been 10 years since the debut of Andrew WK's seminal party album, I Get Wet. To celebrate, one of our favorite Livecast guests, is heading out on the road to play the album in it's entirety all over North America, and a few stops in the UK too. You heard right, [...]

We know Meshuggah is hard at work on their new album, but the question looms: When will they be done already? Perhaps a recent tour announcement has given us some hope. The band just announced a string of UK dates for mid-April. The band hasn't played any shows for quite a while, which leads me [...]

This is certainly a treat for European Dimmu Borgir fans. The band has announced, as a result of fan voting, they will be playing their classic 1997 album, Enthrone Darkness Triumphant, in it's entirety during their November European run. They will play an additional set of material from their entire discography. The losing options up for [...]
