Serj Tankian has been up to some stuff, including a jam with Devin Townsend and Ihsahn! This is not that. This is orchestral music.

Having been blasting and burning around for a few years, Impious Baptism have finally unleashed their first proper full length. Their offering is a seething piece of moody, black metal with spices of old school death metal throughout that will bring heads to a vigorous bang and burn crosses at every turn.

If your idea of heaviness is congruent with screamed vocals, you won't find Habitual Levitations any uptick in brutality over the previous Intronaut album, Valley of Smoke. KEN Mode have attained a whole new level of pissed off with Entrench that I wasn't even sure was possible to convey in a recording. The band has posted a second track, "The Welding" over at Pitchfork.com and it's the perfect Monday morning jam. It starts out slow and ambient and really [...]

It saw the dissolution of our much treasured Roadrunner Records UK as an independent label and the shocking cancellation of one of the country's fastest growing metal weekenders, Sonisphere Festival UK. Talk about 'bummer'. Now, if all of this wasn't terrible enough, lest [...]
