What's better than the new Intronaut record? A killer live performance of the sick lead single off the new Intronaut record!
Now this is a tour I can get behind, a prog metal wet dream featuring Intronaut and Scale The Summit with Mouth of the Architect and Castle splitting half the tour amongst themselves. And there are plenty of dates.
If your idea of heaviness is congruent with screamed vocals, you won't find Habitual Levitations any uptick in brutality over the previous Intronaut album, Valley of Smoke. If you've read any band interviews in the last couple of years you know by now that the sludge groans are a thing of the past, which is all for the best [...]
Holy shit! In stark contrast to last week, the labels seem to be operating under the assumption that you have plenty of capital left over from your Spring Break partying, because they're seriously not fucking around with this week's releases. I know touring season is kicking into high gear but goddamn…
Which is titled "Bathyalpelagic II: The Wish in Dreams" and didn't make the titled of this post because it's too damn many words.
Because you've only been waiting for this moment for the past few months now.
A ton of Thursday A/V updates in our roundup today. New music from Howl, Intronaut and Jeff Loomis is featured as well as a killer video of a jam session between Dave Grohl, Trent Reznor and Josh Homme, and the new drummer for The Faceless.
The more single we're getting off of Intronaut's upcoming Habitual Levitations (Instilling Words With Tones) album, the more I'm convinced it'll be one of the best things to come out this year.
INTRONAUT – Studio Episode #1 (Drums). Go behind the scenes with drummer Danny Walker to see the process of recording the drums for Intronaut's new record, 'Habitual Levitations', at Trench Studios in Corona, CA. Listen to some new music from the album.
I'm still a bit shell-shocked after seeing Meshuggah live this past Friday. It was an entrancing experience, and if they are coming to your town, I highly recommend going to see them. We posted a photo gallery from the Friday show, but I was browsing on HeavyBlogIsHeavy's gallery from Philly, the night before and photographer Maclyn [...]
The big question of the night was will Jens return to the stage and the answer was yes. Jens absolutely melted faces with Meshuggah, who put on an entrancing live show. Animals As Leaders and Intronaut also completely delivered and this package, from top to bottom is fantastic. Go see it live (dates here) and [...]
I was really pumped to hear the new Intronaut full-length, Habitual Levitations (Instilling Words with Tones) when I heard the first single, "Milk Leg," now I'm beyond pumped. The band has posted a second track, "The Welding" over at Pitchfork.com and it's the perfect Monday morning jam. It starts out slow and ambient and really [...]
It's Monday, I'm hung over from an intense weekend and can't quite stomach a full on metal blast at the moment. Maybe once I have my coffee I'll be fully awake and ready for breakdowns, but for now, I need something soothing. Thankfully, Animals As Leaders guitarist Tosin Abasi posted this incredibly soothing video of [...]
…off the new album 'Habitual Levitations', out March 19th, 2013 on Century Media Records
It's gotta suck to be Jens Kidman right now. Meshuggah flew over to kick off their tour on Monday, and Jens was battling the flu (as noted by my terribly Photoshopped photo). Jens made it through Monday's set, but his condition got so bad, that he had to sit out the band's second stop in [...]
