The metal world is still shocked about the news that broke yesterday that Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman of Slayer passed away due to liver failure at the young age of 49. Musicians everywhere have been paying tribute, and here is a roundup of their kind words for the influential guitarist:

Last week, rumors broke that former Killswitch Engage frontman Howard Jones was forming a new band.
