Check Out This Dude With No Hands Perform An ANIMALS AS LEADRS Drum Cover!
Animals As Leaders are one of the most technically sound metal bands out there. They are so technical, they don't even need no stinkin' vocalist, they are all about the music. Needless to say, this is really difficult music to play. So when a dude with no hands decides to cover the drum parts, you can certainly color me impressed. Take a look: (more…)

This supergroup just got more super. On the 100th edition of the Metal Injection Livecast, The Dillinger Escape Plan frontman Greg Puciato revealed exclusively to us that he and Soulfly's Max Cavalera are going to be collaborating on a project reminiscent of Cavalera's work in Nailbomb. We've written a lot about it in the past, and today we get another update and this one is huge!

BORN OF OSIRIS Will Record In March
March is about five months away, but Born Of Osiris want you to know that's exactly when they will be entering the studio to record the followup to 2010's The Discovery. The band has been writing for quite a while, and must have a metric assload of new material, as hints of new songs were dropped as far back January of this year. The band recorded some pre-production demos in April. So they are ready with new music.
The band will be working with producer Nick Sampson and will enter the studio on March 22, 2013.Joey Sturgis will be in charge of mixing. A summer 2013 release is expected via their label home at Sumerian Records.
As for the sound of the record, guitarist Lee McKinney elaborates: (more…)

Why, Hello There New RED FANG Song
Red Fang are riding a successful high right now. The band are touring non-stop, just put out a new track and things in general are going very swell for them. The band seems to be in writing mode, because at a recent tour stop at Slims in San Francisco, they played a new song, allegedly called "Jaws" and it sounds like a quality track.
Here is a pretty decent bootleg: (more…)

SOILWORK Announce 2013 Tour with JEFF LOOMIS, BLACKGUARD, WRETCHED
Soilwork are poised to make a comeback in 2013. While they had a bit of restructuring, they hope to have a new release it and with it comes new touring. The band has announced a massive, nearly two-month long North American tour that will see them joined by their buddy Jeff Loomis, as well as Blackguard, The Browning and Wretched. The routing is insane, and one of the longest I've seen in a while, including a healthy amount of Canadian dates. If Soilwork isn't coming to your town, it's safe to say they hate you… (more…)

SHADOWS FALL Drummer Diagnosed With Acute Pancreatitis
Yikes! The worst thing I can image happening while touring is that somebody in the band gets sick. Not only does that leave the rest of the band in danger, but the one thing you want: your own bed is so far away. Such was the case for Shadows Fall drummer Jason Bittner, who was out on the Party To Apocalypse tour when he started feeling sick. Thankfully, there was a break in the tour where he was allowed to go visit his home doctor. Things got pretty serious from there. Here is an update Bittner issued: (more…)

Moshing Santa Will Save You From The Zombies!
Before "memes" were a thing, leading independent music retailer Victory Records had a meme on their hands with the original Santa mosh and they are clearly knew they had a hit on their hands because they milked it a few more Christmases. Now, they're expanding to Halloween as well. Zombies are taking over Chicago and leave it to moshing Santa to save them. Something about a dude in a Santa suit AND zombies moshing around makes me giggle. Take a look:

Anders Björler formerly of THE HAUNTED Working On A Solo Project
A few weeks ago, we reported that The Haunted is basically over, with only two members of the band not officially quitting yet. Guitarist Anders Björler was the most shocking departure, as the band was basically his idea. Anders will keep busy in the coming months with some At The Gates shows, but for right now, he has a more pressing matters to attend to… a new solo album. (more…)

DOWN Crush Birmingham, The Home of Heavy Metal
Just over five months ago Black Sabbath, the band who the term ‘heavy metal’ was coined for, played their first hometown show in Birmingham in thirteen years. Tonight, their friends and fans in New Orleans super-group Down, rolled into ‘The Workshop of the World’ as a headliner themselves, of a completely sold-out show and with support from comrades native to both the UK and the US respectively in tow. (more…)

Court Rules Against BEHEMOTH Frontman In Bible Tearing Charges (Updated)
While the east coast was submerged in water, Behemoth frontman Nergal aka Adam Darski was in a Polish court defending his freedom of speech. At a 2007 Polish show, Nergal began ripping pages of the bible while on stage and calling the Catholic Church "the most murderous cult on the planet." Some religious leaders in the country were not very happy about that, and decided to press charges.
One year later, Nergal was cleared of the charges by a lower court but now the trial went in front of the Supreme Court who just ruled against Nergal's favor. (more…)

Avril's Ex Dresses As Her For Halloween; NICKELBACK's Chad Kroeger Unimpressed
Let's kick this story off by stating the obvious: none of the characters mentioned are remotely metal. Still, this one is too funny to pass up. A few months ago, we all had a good laugh/scare when the news broke that Canadian abominations Avril Lavigne and Nickelback's Chad Kroeger would soon be tying the knot.
One person who wasn't impressed by the news either was Avril's former husband, and frontman of Sum 41, Deryck Whibley. He and his model girlfriend, Ari Cooper, decided to have a little fun by both cross-dressing with Deryck showing up as his former wife, Avril, and Ari assuming the role of Kroeger. I must say it's pretty funny. But what really pains me, is to say that the response from Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger was even better: (more…)

SUFFOCATION Want To Make It Clear That Frank Mullen Is Not Quitting The Band
Last week, when we reported that Frank Mullen, frontman of legendary New York death metal outfit, Suffocation, announced he would stop touring full time with the band, that sent a wave of shock throughout the metal community. I guess the game of telephone got back to the band with the news that Frank was quitting the band… not sure how that leap was made, because it certainly wasn't made here.
The band felt the need to release a statement late last week clarifying their position and their future: (more…)
