PENTAGRAM's Last Days Here Documentary Is A Must-Watch

YouTube Preview Image

Last year, we got the King of Metal, Dave Hill to interview the frontman of one of his favorite bands, Bobby Leibling of Pentagram. I wasn't at the shoot, but Frank told me that it was one of the most awkward shoots he's ever been on. Leibling is a character, and certainly has a great story, one which is the subject of a new documentary, Last Days Here. Filmmakers Don Argott and Demian Fenton followed Leibling around, get him to give up smoking crack and doing heroin and tried to help him ressurect his career and the band. The movie will be in limited release in theaters on March 2nd and on demand March 16th. More info can be found here.

Motorhead 2012

While nobody can officially announce that Motorhead is going to be on this summer's Rockstar Mayhem Festival, due to Motorhead's current touring commitments with Gigantour, that isn't stopping Lemmy from talking about it. The Motorhead frontman confirmed in a recent interview that the band will be one of the main stage headliner's of this Summer's largest traveling festival. So that locks in the lineup as: Slayer, Slipknot, Motorhead on the main stage, and Anthrax, As I Lay Dying, The Devil Wears Prada, Asking Alexandria, Whitechapel, High on Fire on the second stages. As usual, Mayhem provides a diverse lineup for fans of many different subgenres of metal.

The band is currently in the studio recording a new album, Silencing Machine which is scheduled to be released on July 31st on Century Media Records. Album Review: Nephelium Coils of Entropy

CD_4Panel

In the trenches of vile, visceral music, first impressions are everything; I’m in this for the thrill. Nephelium go straight for the entrails on their full-length debut, dishing out delicious death with a heaping side of grind. I’ll have an extra helping. Coils of Entropy is not music for idle observation; these songs invite the listener to partake of carnage. (more…)

VISION OF DISORDER Is Back; Signs With Candlelight Records

VOD

Vision of Disorder is fucking back, people! The hardcore band has signed to Candlelight Records, and plans on hitting the studio next month to track their next album with Will Putney (Shadows Fall, Suicide Silence) and Cameron Webb (Motörhead , Social Distortion). Founded in 1992, VOD completed 4 albums before disbanding ten years later in 2002. The band has gotten back together off and on for reunion shows since 2008, which included Slipknot's last two shows with Paul Gray. To test the waters and see how fans would react to new material, VOD released a single in 2011 called The Enemy, which fucking ruled! (more…)

METAL INJECTION LIVECAST #153 – Happy Birthday Sean

LivecastHeader

We celebrated Sean's birthday on this edition of the Metal Injection Livecast. Every time a caller came on the show to wish Sean a happy birthday, Noa smacked Sean's ass with a "Slut" paddle. Here is video of him being paddled (best to watch after you listen).

We also talked about Dave Mustaine's eventful week. We got a call from the promoter of the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival, Scott Lee, who gave away a pair of tickets to the show.We also played another awesome edition of The Dirty Pyramid game. Here is this week's playlist (selected by Sean): (more…)

Reflecting On A Week Where DAVE MUSTAINE Alienated Even More Of His

injectionreflection

This was a fun week in metal… we laughed, we cried, we watched Dave Mustaine further and further alienate his entire fanbase. Pretty much a typical week in metal, as far as I'm concerned. Here's what you may have missed:

The most controversial post on Metal Injection this week, is this video clip where The King of Metal, Dave Hill reviews modern black metal bands. Some of our junkies were none-too-pleased with his review skills.

Dave Mustaine couldn't keep out of the news this week. The controversial Megadeth guitarist had opinions against gay marriage, as well as controversial statements about women in Africa and how they should "put a plug in it"

We learned which country has the most metal bands per capita.

We started posting live clips from the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise, so make sure you check out our videos of CANNIBAL CORPSEAMORPHIS and CROWBAR.

New music videos were released this week by BLACK DAHLIA MURDERAS I LAY DYINGEVERY TIME I DIEWORMROT and DARK TRANQUILLITY.

Studio reports were posted this week from THE FACELESS , OVERKILL,  GOD FORBIDTHE CONTORTIONIST3 INCHES OF BLOOD.

We learned about new releases from Job For A Cowboy, High on Fire, Brendan Small of Dethklok and Cynic.

We sent our best wishes to Max Cavalera as he recovers from bell's palsy.

We'll see you guys on Sunday for an all new edition of the Metal Injection Livecast, at an earlier time, 5pm eastern.

LIMP BIZKIT Signs to Cash Money Records

Well, this is probably the weirdest fucking news I have heard in a while, but I'm kind of interested to see how things pan out. Last night, Lil Wayne (probably the only time he'll get mentioned on MI) told 98.7 KISS FM's KISSing After Dark that the New Orleans label signed Limp Bizkit. (more…)

Watch As The ULTIMATE WARRIOR Berates ASKING ALEXANDRIA For 30 Minutes

YouTube Preview Image

The pilot episode of Warrior Show has been posted on Youtube. As we wrote about in the past, this is a new idea from the minds of the Ultimate Warrior and Sumerian Records founder Ash Avildsen. I still don't really get the point of this show, even after watching the episode. It starts with a little backstory on Warrior and the band, then, they meet, have a chat about their lives, and then Warrior makes them do a bunch of drills, so they can test their spirit or some crap like that. I kept waiting for something interesting to happen, but instead I was just watching a few blokes running around with chains draped around their necks. If this sort of thing interests you, then watch the Warrior Show!
