Jamey Jasta SINGS as Zakk Wylde Shreds on new track

JameyJasta-ZakkWylde

Today is officially being dubbed New Music Monday, simply because our first four posts of the day feature new music, all from relatively different sounding bands. Let's talk about this new Jasta track. Jamey teamed up with heavyweight shredder Zakk Wylde for this one, and it's apparent from a few seconds in as you hear Wylde's famous pitch-squeals. What is interesting is Jamey friggen Jasta actually sings on the track. Jasta is a singer now~! Move over King Diamond. I know that Jasta did some clean vocals on the last Hatebreed album, but that doesn't make it any less jarring. I will say though, this is a pretty uplifting radio-friendly track. Dudes in Jeeps will totally be blasting this all summer. Check it out after the jump: (more…)

BRUTAL TRUTH Release "End Time"

BrutalTruth

Since we are equal opportunity music lovers here at Metal Injection, we must inform you that grind masters Brutal Truth posted a new track titled "End Time." Perhaps they were just trying to help create the soundtrack for the now non-existant rapture? You can listen to the song in exchange for a "like" on their Facebook page.

TRIVIUM Reveal "In Waves", Offer Free Download of New MP3

Trivium

Over the weekend, Trivium linked to this page which featured an ASCII version of the T in their logo and not much else. Viewing the source of the page says "Do I end this all for the world to see? Everything is hiding in plain sight. Help us spread the keys." and then the obscured URL which was eventually revealed to be a new MP3 of their lead single, "In Waves" available for stream/download below.

It's clear this track will go over huge live as it kicks in with a massive breakdown and then evolves into a radio-friendly modern metal track with a little solo sprinkled on top. What do you think of the track?

SUICIDE SILENCE Post "You Only Live Once", New Single from The Black Crown

YouTube Preview Image

Suicide Silence promised their fans if they received one million likes on Facebook, they would release a new track. They did just that this weekend, releasing "You Only Live Once." If you were a fan of SS in the past, then this is exactly what you were looking for. If you hate SS, then this will do nothing to change your opinion of them. Which side are you on?

UPDATE: New video embedded. If it's removed check out the song on the band's Facebook page.

The Black Crown comes out July 12th on Century Media Records.

Derek Rydquist Officially Confirms He Is Out Of THE FACELESS, New Vocalist Announced

theFacelessminusDerek

When word spread throughout the internet that Derek Rydquist was not on tour with his band, The Faceless in Europe, we immediately shot the dude an email to get his side of the story. He commented exclusively to Metal Injection saying "…I think you're on to something here. I'm definitely not in Europe with them right now." Now that the dust settled, Rydquist has released another statement, this time to Lambgoat, where he confirmed that he quit the band due to fatigue. Here is the full statement: (more…)

Metal In Europe vs. Metal In The USA

metal-in-europe-vs-metal-in-the-us

While I don't feel that the Between The Buried and Me shirt is appropriate (maybe a Winds of Plague shirt instead), I do find this hilarious. What do you guys think? Does this comic have a point or is he just exaggerating?

Audio Roundup: New Non-Black Metal From IWRESTLEDABEARONCE, FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY, CAVE IN & ENGINEER

It's almost Friday~! Who else is ready to party all weekend long? Here are a few tunes to hold you over for now…

A few days ago IWRESTLEDABEARONCE released a fake press release announcing a new black metal sound that should be expected on the band's album. They even released new promo photos of them looking very grim and kvlt. All was revealed to be in jest when the band's new single premiered on Metalsucks earlier today. They sound as spazzy as ever. Their new album, Ruining it for Everybody, comes out Tuesday, July 26 on Century Media.

Fit For An Autopsy is a band we are getting really excited about. The band, which features Nate Johnson, one of the best vocalists in metal today, just posted a track on their Facebook page. You'll have to like the page to hear the track, but we think it will be a like you will not regret. Sheer brooooootality!

Cave In fans rejoice! A new track has made it's way online from their first new album in six years.

Finally, you really need to hear the new Engineer track. Holy shit, does it sound amazing. Check it out.

Bringing back the sadistic deeds and grotesque memories is Bloodsoaked, set to release their follow-up studio album – The Death of Hope – this coming July. …And Demos For All!

anddemosforall

The wonderous Cosmo Lee of Invisible Oranges has uncovered some pretty fascinating demos from Metallica, pre-…And Justice For All. These demos were recorded even before Jaymz had the lyrics fully written for tracks, so you just hear him sing the vocal patterns in jibberish. Any Metallica fan, new or old, would appreciate this. The link to download is off Mediafire so I assume it won't be up for long. Also, check out Cosmo's quite writeup on the demos here

CREED Guitarist Putting Out Thrash Metal Album

mark-tremonti-850-100

It's the album you've all been waiting for. According to a recent interview, Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti, writer of riffs of those inescapable songs like "With Arms Wide Open" and "Higher" (inescapable in the sense that any supermarket or CVS I would walk into in the late 90s was playing those shitty songs) fanciest himself an speed metal guitarist. You can expect to hear his interpretation of what speed and/or thrash metal sounds like on his upcoming solo record. Here is my predicition: much like every song album Tremonti has created, this will stink! Here is the direct quote: (more…)

METAL INJECTION LIVECAST #117- The Radio Adds Four Years

LivecastJoshBarnett

This edition of the Livecast begins with some talk about the Arnold Schwarzenegger sex scandal. This leads to "Arnold" himself popping in throughout the show to defend himself. Eventually, Rob, Noa and Sean talk about their experience at The Dillinger Escape Plan show earlier this week.

After the music break, we were joined by MMA fighter and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Josh Barnett. We talked about his upcoming benefit show for Japan earthquake victims on May 26th at the House of Blues in L.A. featuring All Shall Perish, Animals As Leaders, Cattle Decapitation, Abysmal Dawn, Internal Corrosion and Thrown Into Exile. We took a few callers, and Josh was eventually confronted by The Iron Shiek resulting in a hilarious verbal exchange. We wrap up the show talking about sex lives that podcast hosts lead. Here is this week's playlist:

The Black Dahlia Murder – Moonlight Equilibrium
Entombed – When Life Has Ceased
Weedeater – Monkey Jungtion
Intronaut – The Literal Black Cloud
Animals As Leaders – Thoroughly at Home
Vintersorg – Naturens Galleri
